From humble beginnings 32 years ago, in what was then the Eastern Transvaal, Dave Beveridge with a long standing career as a mine manager realized that one of the biggest challenges the industry faced was their ability to efficiently manage their supply and delivery of stock. With this in mind Dave developed a concept that gave the mining industry an off-site stock consolidation service resulting in one delivery as opposed to multiple deliveries, and thus Special Envoy was born. Today, 32 years later Special Envoy operates from its head office in Jet Park, Boksburg with a fleet of more than 20 vehicles, 30 full time employees and is still effectively servicing the mining and associated industries with stock consolidation and delivery services. With in-depth knowledge and understanding of the mining sector, Special Envoy has expanded over the last 32 years and now offers a wide and flexible range of services not only to the mining sector but various associated industries. These services include internal mail, small parcel and oil sample delivery services and fixed term on-site vehicle hire. Acknowledgment of the need to offer exceptional customer service has been our foremost priority and has contributed as one of the major principles for our success. Our list of loyal clientele have remained and supported us for over 20 years and include well known and respected brands such as Impala Platinum, Anglo Coal, BHP Billiton, Silicon Smelters, Mine and Quarry and Glencore. Our greatest asset at Special Envoy is our staff who pride themselves in being ‘the best they can be’. We have longstanding staff members that have been part of the Special Envoy family for over 26 years. One of our key values is empowering our staff and encouraging them to grow within the business and better themselves. For example we have successfully trained a code 8 license holder up to code 14 and have developed the skills of a cleaner who is now our ‘stores manageress’. Our aim is to identify the potential of all workers and up skill them so they feel good about themselves and in return are proud and enjoy what they do.
