COMPANY PROFILE Premier Clothing (Pty) Ltd. is the leading manufacturer of uniforms and workwear in Botswana. Since its establishment in 1982, Premier Clothing has been supplying the Botswana workforce, from the mining sector, privately owned garages and the local construction industry to the local district councils and the military, with high quality uniforms, fire protective clothing and workwear. The company engages itself in tendering to government organisations and parastatals, where there exists strong competition from importers and agents. This is an ongoing challenge and is only fulfilled by our high standard of excellence in our garments. Great emphasis is placed on producing a quality garment with strength and durability. The company is continuously re-investing in order to upgrade its machinery to produce a better quality garment while at the same time making it more cost-effective/economical. The directors have further enhanced the company with their versatile, extensive and varied business experience. Their expertise in the textile industry has given Premier Clothing greater leverage in understanding the needs and requirements of its customers. With this knowledge the company has progressed and grown from its beginning on Molosiwa Road in the Old Industrial Site to its larger and more modern premises in Gaborone West. The company started with 25 workers and today it has 300 skilled local staff and modern machinery (400 machines which include all types of specialised machines used in garment manufacturing). The organisation, from the manufacturing departments to the sales departments, is managed by our locally trained staff, most of whom have been with the company since its humble beginnings. In addition, a friendly, comfortable working environment coupled with the constant encouragement, motivation and appreciation of our staff contributes to a greater quality product of up to 40,000 unit garments monthly. The raw material used in our products are presently imported from South Africa, Zimbabwe and overseas as there are no producers locally in Botswana that make the raw materials required to suit our high quality functional, durable product. We are BOBS ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System approved and a SABS 434:2001/SANS434 Product certified company. This enables us to procure a large share of the export market to Southern African Region (SADC) from our existing export market of 15% where our garments, quality and service are highly appreciated by all our customers. This has also enabled us to be able to supply European and American markets. Furthermore, Premier Clothing is engaged in diversification of our manufacturing base in order to augment our range of products as demand is recognised. Premier Clothing’s objectives are to produce an excellent garment and maintain close relations with our customers to better service their needs and requirements. Through its continuous progress in improving both factory and equipment, Premier Clothing believes that it will play a greater and even more significant role in Botswana’s future development.
