The tradition of manufacturing high quality cranes and hoists dates back to 1936 when Lasch was established by a German immigrant. This truly South African company has continuously evolved with time but retained its core competency of locally designing and manufacturing quality cranes that sell at competitive prices. The quality tradition has been sustained through intellectual property archived from inception through all design evolutions up to current day. The pedigree of the cranes is proven by instances of continued use for over 50 years with only minor adaptations. Since 1954 Lasch has commissioned in excess of 5 100 cranes and 5 500 hoists throughout Southern Africa and is constantly keeping abreast of technology developments worldwide. Lasch offers electric overhead traveling cranes that range from 0.5 ton to 100 ton lifting capacity. Most cranes supplied by Lasch have lifting capacities of 5 to 40 tons with spans of up to 30m. Over the years Lasch has also supplied ground breaking jib crane designs, although not in great numbers. We offer 3 types of wire rope hoists that cater for class 1 to 4 requirements or M3 to M8 mechanism classes. The hoists can be foot-mounted, fixed-suspension, electric traveling, close headroom, monorail trolley or crab units. The range of hoists covers standard lift heights ranging from 6m to 96m. Some of our hoists are, with minor adaptation, used by mines as winches. To complement our wire rope hoists range we also offer a comprehensive range of chain hoists.
