Bassair Aviation is a specialist wildlife helicopter management operation that has been providing dedicated conservation, census, survey and management to Provincial and National Parks throughout the Southern hemisphere since 1990 (27 years). Furthermore, John Bassi has accumulated 18 000 flying hours in wildlife/census/management roles privately as well as Chief pilot for SANParks. Apart from conducting the annual game census in ALL SANP reserves throughout South Africa for 7 years, John also conducts the Kruger NP annual Rhino census and elephant and buffalo census. Census flying has also covered hippo, crocodile, elephant and buffalo throughout the entire country of Mozambique. John also conducts the annual census for all Limpopo Parks, Mpumalanga Parks and Free State Parks for more than ten years. John also conducts bi annual river census on all South Africa’s major river systems for hippo and crocodiles.
