GCD was established in 2001 by Gawie Stoltz, with extensive experience in fan maintenance, balancing and vibration analysis. In 2007 GCD was approved on Anglo Platinum’s vendor, where GCD manufactured Sheave wheels and rod mill installations. During this time GCD completed numerous refurbishment projects. In 2012 GCD designed and manufactured the first new generation Inlet Guide Vane (IGV), with main focus to assist Eskom in their DSM (Demand Side Management) projects. GCD has since then installed around 120 IGVs, with the first unit still in operation. Alongside the IGVs, GCD manufactures and commissions new impellers and shafts, self-closing doors and the refurbishment and supply of all bearing mechanisms on the main fans.
