Geo Pollution Technologies is an independent environmental/geohydrological consultancy, employing over 24 professionals in five major centres throughout Southern Africa. Associations with similar consultancies simultaneously expand our markets and enhance our technological expertise to the benefit of our clients. Registered with various international professional associations, we offer a multi-disciplinary approach for the exploration, responsible utilisation, management and protection of groundwater - one of Southern Africa’s most valued natural resources. Our principal focus is soil and groundwater contamination studies, water supply, design and implementation of remedial technologies, development of environmental management strategies, environmental impact assessment and environmental auditing. Our client base includes a variety of industries including mining, petroleum/petrochemical, heavy engineering, agricultural, property developers, governmental and non-governmental organisations, auditing bodies and other consulting companies. We strive to provide our customers with a cost-effective service, using internationally accepted methods that ensure professional quality and integrity. We believe that an amicable compromise between economic development and environmental concerns is always possible, and can be achieved through a thorough understanding of both our client’s needs and the requirements of the environmental authorities. Members of Geo Pollution Technologies have collective experience in the environmental field in excess of 100 years. During this time we have dealt with, amongst others, hydrocarbon spills of varying amounts from tens to millions of litres, numerous mining and mining related groundwater issues, industrial geological assessments, environmental due diligences, environmental impact assessments and have performed environmental auditing functions. Geo Pollution Technologies has embarked on a training program for its staff members following the ISO 9001 requirements. Further to this our staff regularly attends international conferences, workshops and training courses. Through this we maintain high levels of technical capability, while remaining on the forefront of international trends in environmental management. Geo Pollution Technologies has, in the past been involved with a number of projects in Europe. We have constructed various numerical models to predict the impact/vulnerability of groundwater contamination not only in Southern Africa, but also in the United Kingdom and in Germany.
